09/12/2009: "ENGINE 3"
The Hamtramck Fire Department welcomed their new rig into service on Friday, September 11th. Engine 3 (E-3) is a KME Pumper on a Spartan chasis with a 1500 GPM Waterous pump with a 425 horsepower Cummins ISL engine. E-3 is now our frontline attack rig, E-2 becomes our command rig and E-1 is now our back-up engine. Engine 4, in service since 1980 is being retired after 29 years of service.
The last truck to carry the name Engine 3 was a Dodge FTI Pumper From 1965-1993.
