Twice as many fires occur on Thanksgiving than on a normal day. That’s more than 4,000 fires – most in the kitchen. Be thankful and play it safe, make sure your household has a plan in place in the event of an emergency and that your smoke detectors work!
Never leave your food unattended and make sure all the handles of pots and pans on the stove are turned inward.
Keep kids away from the stove and knives!
Avoid loose or baggy clothing near the stove.
Keep a fire extinguisher nearby.
Do not use water to put out a grease fire.
We wish everyone a very happy and safe Thanksgiving!
