06/29/2006: "LAYOFF PICKET"
 Hamtramck Firefighters were joined by Firefighters from Pontiac, Ecorse, Detroit and other metro departments in an informational picket outside City Hall on Tuesday, June 27th. At the meeting, Hamtramck Firefighters Association President Mark Swider spoke on the recent layoff of six firefighters.
We'd like to thank our brother firefighters for showing support and offering assistance at this time. We'd also like to thank all the residents for voicing thier support and concerns to the council.
